TWINS – FICTION and DOPPLEGANGER
This, my friends, is what’s known as an OOPS post!
This week’s topic is TWINS and DOPPLEGANGERS.
The unsavory heritage series is dopplegangers. Generations of them. Twins is one thing. To resemble or “look like” your parent or sibling or some other relative is one thing. But every woman and girl in this lineage is identical. As in double-take identical.
I’d share a pic but they’re all in my head… There are some real live people who would be (ahem) a doppleganger, but I have to have permission to use their picture and I don’t have it. Permission. I don’t have permission.
I did find a couple, count ‘em two, big names with doppleganger images. Search criteria brings up some weird stuff when you look for dopplegangers. I search sites that are free to use and share which narrows the choices. (But keeps me out of trouble!) There were pictures of pets and stuffed animals. Seriously? That’s your idea of a doppleganger??? But I digress.
Those are the fun ones. Years, generations apart, and maybe not even related. And yet they look so much alike!
Of course, with photoshop and myriad other photo enhancing programs, anyone could be made into a doppleganger. (I like that word. It’s weird and it’s fun to type!) But digital skills is not the same as two separate human beings who look so identical or near identical.
There’s always me. I’d have made a cute twin, don’tcha think???
Not much on topic today. But a little bit of fun anyway. (I mean, dogs with stuffed animal doppleganger? That’s funny!)
Still, better’n crickets, right???
NOTE: All images found on Bing.com, licensed for free to use and share.
Do you know anyone who is or has a doppleganger?

I have been writing since 1995, and began working in earnest on my debut novel, Tessa in 2013. Meanwhile, I cranked out a few dozen poems, and made countless notes for story ideas. I lived with depression for many years, and the inherent feelings of worthlessness and invisibility; I didn’t want to be who I was and struggled with my own identity for many years. My characters face many of these same demons.
I write stories of identity conflict. My characters encounter situations that force the question, “Who am I, really?” For all who have ever wondered who you are or why you’re here, my stories will touch you in a very real—maybe too real—and a very deep way. I know, I write from experience.
Tessa and Clara Bess are available on Amazon, both for Kindle and in print, with the third book in the series, Cissy, coming out in September of this year. I also have several poems included in an anthology, Where Dreams and Visions Live (Anthologies of the Heart Book 1) by Mary Blowers, http://maryblowers.com, as well as a short story, Sarafina’s Light, also in an anthology, Blood Moon, compiled by Mary Blowers. I will also be working on a personal compilation of poetry to be released in 2016 as well.
