BOOK REVIEW – FROM WINTER’S ASHES by AMY LEIGH SIMPSON
Does the flame melt the ice? Or does the snow douse the flame?
Does the too-hot-to-handle hunky fireman succeed in rescuing the ice princess? Or does the princess drive an ice dagger further in the heart of her would-be hero?
When all American hero type Finn Carson and lonely heiress Joselyn White are thrown back into each other’s lives, they both fight the attraction that never fully died.
As an investigation into the attempt on her life becomes more complex, and her father’s political campaign has her in front and center spotlight, Finn finds himself more involved—and more vested—than he wants to be.
Will the reignited flame spark to passion? Can they overcome the obstacles that rise between them? Or will the secrets that taunt from the shadows of her past and from his recent tragedy prove too great to overcome?
Ms. Simpson has scripted a fiery sizzling romance. From the first page, with a peek into the mind of a depraved predator, the story crackles with tension. She had rendered a damsel in distress whose heart and emotions are all too real. The longing of her heart of hearts screams on every page, bringing the reader into her isolated world from her figurative ivory tower. The tension and longing between Joselyn and Finn is palpable, leaping from every page. Filled with colorful and vivid descriptive narrative, and a plot that twists and turns over and again, this story is a page turner from the first page to the last.
I was given a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
Amy Leigh Simpson is the completely exhausted stay-at-home mama to the two wild-child, tow-headed toddler boys, one pretty little princess baby, and the incredibly blessed wife of her hunky husband Rick—who makes it easy to write flat-out devastating, swoon-worthy heroes!
She writes Romantic Suspense chalked full of grace that is equally inspiring, nail-biting, and hilarious. And a little saucy! Okay fine, a lot saucy. 🙂 She is a member of ACFW. Amy has her degree in Sports Medicine and enjoys weaving medical aspects into her stories. Her greatest ambitions are to create stories that inspire hope, raise up her children to be mighty warriors for Christ, invent an all-dessert diet that works, and make up for years of sleep deprivation.
